Since 2021 all category B licence holders automatically hold the entitlement B+E, Car plus trailer. So now no test or theory is required to drive in this category.

What they might not automatically have are the skills to tow a trailer or caravan with a total combined weight of 7 tonnes.

This short but interesting and in depth course involves all the training that was previously delivered when preparing a driver for test but with the focus on real life situational training, such as being able to reverse your caravan into that obscure driveway space. The training is tailored to the individuals needs and is relevant to what type of trailer being towed, such as horseboxes for example.

No paperwork, no theory, but a certificate of completion for those drivers reaching a suitable standard of driving, that are required by their work place to attend a skills course in towing, but no test, which for some is a relief!

Our online theory test bundle is available when booking a course, to prepare for the Initial CPC module 2 Known as the 'Case Study’ part. This test is conducted at the same locations as the theory test and requires about 30 minutes to complete, though 90 minutes are provided. It involves a computer-based set of questions across 7 subject areas, designed to simulate real-life scenarios you may face as a professional LGV or PSV driver.

This practical test follows Module 2 and ensures you can apply your knowledge in practical settings. You must pass Module 2 before attempting Module 4, and we arrange these tests to run concurrently with your LGV practical tests.
